ABOUT US

Each year, a group of 22 people travels to Tijuana, Mexico for spring break. We are accompanied by Fr. David Griffin, O.S.B., of Catholic Campus Ministry, and Deborah Bezilla, a Catholic community member.

Our mission is to grow in the faith of Jesus Christ through prayer, fellowship, and service to the children of Hogar de los Niños orphanage and the greater community of Tijuana, Mexico.

The goal of our work projects is to put our time and effort into a project that supports the local community. For the first five years of the trip we worked on constructing Our Lady of the Angels Church from the ground up in the San Angel colonia of Tijuana. We also built a dental clinic and painted and helped renovate two other churches. In the past few years, we have spent the majority, if not all, of our time at Hogar de los Niños orphanage painting and doing finishing work on site.

We eat, sleep, and live at the Hogar de los Niños orphanage. This aspect of the trip gives us the chance to spend time with some very incredible children. It may appear to us that these children do not have much, but they have so much love and joy in their lives that material wealth does not matter. They are truly wonderful to know and teach us so much.
